We are searching eight local organizers in the EU and Norway! An Open Call for Local Organisers of the Third Edition of the EUDIS Hackathon Technologies for Space and Defence.
DG DEFIS is pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity for local organisers based in the EU and Norway to host the third edition of EUDIS Hackathon, scheduled to take place on 17-19 October 2025. The call for local organisers was opened on Friday, 23 May, marking the beginning of an exciting journey to bring together innovative minds and shape the future of space and defence technologies. The EUDIS Hackathon will provide a unique platform for experts, entrepreneurs, and students to collaborate, share ideas, and develop innovative solutions that can transform the European space and defence landscape.
This time, EUDIS Hackathon will focus on the theme “Technologies for Space and Defence”, presenting a unique chance for participants to tackle complex challenges and develop groundbreaking solutions. The third edition will revolve around three key areas:
- Protection of space assets – detect, analyse and counter threats in space
- Space for defence – Earth-Observation, Navigation, Communication, and coordination of multi-domain military operations
- Sovereign Aerospace – Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Management, Production, and Countermeasures
By hosting this event, 8 selected local organisers will play a vital role in fostering a collaborative and creative environment, where experts, entrepreneurs, and students can converge to drive innovation and excellence in the space and defence industries. The hackathon will not only provide a platform for innovation but also facilitate knowledge sharing, networking, and partnership building, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of the European space and defence ecosystem.

Applications are open for communities across the EU and Norway to organise one of the official hackathon events.
